Managing Data Growth in Life Sciences
- The Challenge

In today’s life science and research environments, the amount of data being created by current and next-generation instruments threatens to overwhelm existing storage infrastructures, slowing research productivity and dramatically increasing costs. To stay ahead of such extreme data growth and in order to maximize the value of this truly mission-critical information, research organisations must be able to efficiently store, secure, access and analyse this data at an unprecedented rate.

Why Attend This Seminar?

Find out how S3 and its technology partners can work with you to help provide, highly scalable, high-performance, pay-as-you-grow storage solutions, which are specifically designed to effectively store, secure and manage rapidly growing stores of file-based information - such as sequence and biomedical.

S3 enable leading life science and research organisations, such as EBI and Sanger Institute, to focus on their science, not their storage.

S3's 4th Annual Life Sciences Seminar will close with an Industry Focused Panel Session.

Cloud computing is still in its early days, and most life science organisations are still proceeding cautiously to test its feasibility and determine how effectively to make best use of cloud services whether they be private, public or hybrid. At the 4th Annual “Managing Data Growth in Life Sciences Seminar” S3 will be bringing together representatives from Sanger Institute, EMBL-EBI, University of Dundee, London Research Institute Cancer Research UK and Cambridge Research Institute Cancer Research UK to share their thoughts and opinions about the implications associated with cloud computing in life sciences.

This panel session will explore what cloud computing can offer for today’s life sciences industry: speed to market, internal and external collaboration needed for innovation and clinical trials, and a way to bring greater cost predictability for IT.
